Arthrex Personalised cell therapy is a PRP procedure (PRP = Platelet Rich Plasma) that harnesses the body’s own healing and regeneration processes. treatment with PRP is a biological method, the effectiveness of which has been proved in various studies. there is growing interest in using it in aesthetic medicine and plastic surgery – for example, treating wrinkles and alopecia, but also for reconstructions and skin grafts.

Arthrex ACP® double syringe

The ACP® double syringe enables closed and easy production of PRP. no synthetic separating materials are used as the PRP is separated from the other blood components in a purely physical process.

This system, which has been used successfully for many years, enables the production of a PRP with a platelet concentration that is two to three times greater, coupled with a reduction in white blood cells and erythrocytes. The effectiveness of this composition has been demonstrated in a study by the proliferation-promoting effect.

The Arthrex Angel™ system is a revolutionary system for obtaining PRP preparations that can be tailored to relevant treatment needs. the three major requirements for a multifunctional PRP system are satisfied – maximum flexibility, easy handling, and a high level of safety.

Flexibility
The user can choose from various platelet and leukocyte concentrations and thereby tailor the PRP treatment to the needs of the patient. this is made possible by a proprietary 3-sensor technology which utilises the differences in light absorption of the various cell types. the Arthrex Angel™ system can handle volumes from 40 ml to 180 ml in a single cycle.

SIMPLICITY

AREAS OF APPLICATION

(Androgenetic) Alopecia:
PRP stimulates the proliferation and differentiation of stem cells in hair follicles. Studies have shown a significant increase in hair diameter and hair density.

Wrinkles/Contours/Augmentation:
PRP has been used successfully in combination with fat grafts. Among other things it supports vascularisation and thus retention of fat grafts.

Skin Rejuvenation:
PRP stimulates the breakdown of light-damaged elements in the extracellular matrix and induces the synthesis of collagen, which improves dermal elasticity.  It has also been shown that PRP stimulates the body’s own hyaluronic acid synthesis, which results in a volume effect and enhances skin turgor. 14 studies have proved the effectiveness of PRP for facial and neck treatments without noticeable side effects. PRP can also be used in combination with fractional laser therapy.

Scarring:
PRP plays an active role in restructuring the extracellular matrix. the increased expression of matrix metalloproteinases brings about stimulation of dermal remodelling. 15 studies have shown that using PRP leads to an improvement in scarring / a reduction in severity (acne, traumatic scars).

Wounds / Ulcers:
PRP induces upregulation of regulatory active cell cycle proteins. The antibacterial effect of PRP has also been demonstrated. Studies have shown that PRP accelerates new tissue formation effectively for various wounds/ulcers.

Plastic Reconstructive Surgery
PRP can be used together with fat grafts for reconstructions, such as breast reconstructions. PRP supports vascularisation and thus retention of fat grafts and leads to improved retention of breast volume.

Skin Grafts (E.G. Facelifts, Abdominoplasties):
Studies have shown that PRP reduces postoperative pain and swelling and improves wound healing. PRP also reduces the formation of seroma and associated postoperative punctures.
